How do I place an order?

If you would like to place an order for one of our dresses, you may do so through our on line order system if there are no changes being made to the gown. If you are making custom modifications to the gown, we recommend that you contact us first so that we may discuss the nature of the modification, if it’s doable and what the additional cost would be. You may contact us by email at maxmariannebrandt@gmail.com. Once you place your order, we will contact you within 2 business days to ask for your measurements and to verify that you have ordered the correct size. We will also request your wedding date to ensure that you have selected the proper production time.If you live nearby you can also make an appointment so that we can make your measurements. Also its possible if you live in The Netherland or nearby to make an appointment with us than we can make the measurements for the weddingdress you like to buy.

How far in advance do I need to order my Wedding Gown?

Our gowns are not mass produced. Each Couture Wedding Gown is sewn when the order is placed. There is a lot of detail that goes into each particular gown and therefore average production time is about 6-7 months. We recommend that you order your wedding gown at least 8-9 months before your wedding date so that you have plenty of time for production of the gown, shipping and finding a local seamstress to perform any possible alterations. Most Wedding Gowns need  alterations to ensure a good fit so please budget accordingly. Alterations can include adjustments in the bust, waist, hips, hem as well as other areas if the gown is made with straps or sleeves. Alterations are the responsibility of the bride and we do not compensate for alteration expenses. We do offer rush production for an additional fee, however, you will still need to leave yourself plenty of time for shipping and alterations.

What size should I order?

Wedding Dresses and apparel are sized differently. Therefore, you will need to have your measurements taken to select the size. We will send you to our measuring instructions. Please take good care when you make the measurement.

What if I plan on losing weight?

Many of our brides contact us about how to order their gown if they will be losing weight. Many of our beautiful brides are on a weight loss program and we get this question asked many times. We still recommend ordering your gown at least 8-10 months in advance at the size/measurements you are the day you order your gown. We never recommend ordering your gown in a smaller size or providing smaller measurements. It is much easier to have a gown taken in than it is to have it let out. Also, it’s the same amount of work for a seamstress to take in a ½ inch or taking in 4 inches of fabric. The gown will still need to be opened at the seams and then re-seamed again. Even though there is seam allowance of about 1 inch on each side of most gowns, letting out the gown is a little more complex and costly than taking it in. Ordering your gown with the Corset Back closure is a great way to adjust the fit easily. Most of the time, the gown can be adjusted up or down 1-2 sizes with the Corset back closure.

Can I visit a Bridal Salon to try on your gowns?

Currently, the M&M Sweet Flavours Bruidsmode collection is only available on line and is not carried in Bridal Salons. Avoiding showroom time, salesperson commissions, heavy markups and housing inventory will ensure that our prices remain low.

Do I need an appointment for a consultation?

If you would like to come to us for a consultation, you will need to make an appointment. Our collection is an online collection and not currently available at our Bridal Salon. We will be more than happy to show you the quality of our gowns, go through color swatches and if you are ordering your gown, take your measurements.

How are your gowns made?

At M&M Sweet Flavours Bruidsmode, we take Bridal dressmaking very seriously. It all starts with high quality true Bridal fabrics that have high thread counts. The higher the thread count, the softer and more luxurious the fabric is. Depending on the style, we use one or a combination of Satin, Taffeta, Organza, Chiffon, Tulle, Lace, Georgette, Mikado as well as many others. Most fabrics are available in every color. Fabric choice is extremely important when constructing a Wedding Gown as the gown will not fit properly on the body when using low quality fabric. There is a world of a difference between a cheap Satin fabric and a high quality Satin fabric. The fabrics we source are hand selected from the finest fabric mills. These fabric companies supply Bridal fabrics to the Luxury Bridal Designers.

The next step is the construction of the Wedding Gown. There’s a right and wrong way to construct Wedding Gowns. At M&M Sweet Flavours Bruidsmode, constructing Couture Wedding Gowns is the only thing we do. Every gown starts with creating the proper pattern for the size and/or measurements to fit the silhouette of the gown. Since every woman is shaped differently, a size 2 pattern must be designed differently than a size 16 pattern. This means that all of the darts and curves must be in the right places for that specific size and silhouette. Once the pattern is created, the exterior Bridal fabric will be cut according to the pattern designed for it.

The next step is to properly Interface the bodice exterior. We use a very specific type of Interface that is soft but durable and provides very good support and texture to the exterior/base fabric. The Interface is sewn on the inside of the exterior fabric, following the same pattern. To create an optimal bust shape, we then insert bust support contouring.

Once the exterior is completed, we then move onto the lining of the gown. For the bodice, we only create the bodice lining in the same fabric as the exterior gown fabric. For example, if the gown is based in Satin, the bodice lining will also be made in Satin. We do not use regular lining fabric on the bodice as this is not the proper way to line a Couture Wedding Gown bodice. Lining fabric is only used for the bottom portion of the gown. Once the lining is sewn, boning channels are aligned along the seams, front and back of the bodice to provide additional support. The amount of boning channels will depend on the size and style of the gown. For some styles (such as soft Chiffon and Charmuese gowns) we do not use boning channels.

After the exterior/base of the gown and the fully boned lining is created separately, we then move onto the design features of the gown. All of the design elements are also made with the finest quality and care. Our beading is made with high quality beads that are hand sewn, not glued. We use mostly French Lace, which is very fine and sourced from luxury Lace suppliers. Once all of the design elements are incorporated into the gown, the gown finally gets sewn together. For most full gowns, we insert 1-2 layers of crinoline tulle into the skirt for volume. A wrist loop is typically added to most gowns so that the bride can hold up the train.
